ELVIS VEST by JANE LIPPMANN
Throughout the years I’ve bought your books and patterns, and for the past couple of years I’ve been smitten with illusion knitting. Thanks to you and Steve, I jumped into illusion knitting last year when my husband was very ill, and I spent most of my time in the hospital with him. I bought the Elvis Presley wall hanging pattern and knitting it helped keep me sane during an extremely difficult time. I worked the chart and then decided to turn my knitting into a tunic vest. I showed the vest at Meg Swansen’s Knitting Camp last summer, and was careful to tell the group that the Elvis pattern was Steve’s and how I bought it, etc. I hope I did justice to Steve’s hard work and that you and he won’t be horrified!
One of the photos was taken in a local barber shop. One day my husband wanted a haircut, and when the barbers saw Elvis, one of them took a couple of photos and sent them to me by e-mail. I like the way the back of the vest showed up in the mirror of the shop. Please know how grateful I am to you both!
