CHARLIE À LA WARHOL

The design was inspired by Andy Warhol’s screen prints. It uses similar unusual colour combinations but cannot precisely recreate Warhol’s style as only two colours are used in each of the ‘prints’.

It is extremely difficult to photograph illusion knits to good effect. They look much better in real life. This wall-hanging is really much brighter than it appears in the photos. The effect created depends on the colours you choose. The colours used here are red, cyan, purple and yellow.

The illusion is designed to be seen in the direction of the picture on the right but very little detail is lost when you look from the other side. When you look directly from in front you only see four squares with different combinations of colours.

The animation below shows how the image changes as you move around it.

The pattern includes a cushion pattern inspired by a different image.
